Target’s Holiday Hours for Christmas and New Year’s
Some people may consider Target a one-stop holiday shop because it offers thousands of items, such as groceries, electronics, baby gear or Starbucks loot, all under one red roof. But don’t expect the retailer to stick to its regular hours during the holiday season — especially on Christmas Day.

Like most other major retailers, Target will not be open on Christmas Day.
Although Target is open on New Year’s Eve, store hours may be shortened, according to a Target customer service representative. To find out when your local Target will be open, refer to the store locator.
On New Year’s Day, Target will be open and resume regular hours.
According to Target’s holiday return policy, most items that are unopened and in new condition can be returned within 90 days. Target RedCard debit and credit card holders are granted an additional 30 days to return almost all items purchased with their RedCard. But some exceptions exist:
- Electronics and entertainment-related purchases must be returned within 30 days. For items purchased between Nov. 1 and Dec. 25, the 30-day refund period will start Dec. 26.
- All mobile phones, regardless of brand, must be returned within 14 days.
- All Apple products, with the exception of mobile phones, must be returned within 15 days. For items purchased between Nov. 1 and Dec. 25, the 15-day return period will begin Dec. 26.
